Baby, It’s Hot Outside!

It’s been a hot start to the summer in So Cal - what happened to June gloom? This weekend in OC we saw temperatures in the high 90’s! So, it makes it completely fitting to announce that our new summer fashions have arrived and we know you’re going to love them! Right Bank Babies doesn’t disappoint with this seasons adorable new fabrics found on their Retro Reversible Dresses, Rompers and Mix and Match bloomers. Our moms love the fit and retro feel and children love the comfort. These fashions are inspired by the retro smock dresses of the 60’s and 70’s. Wear them layered together or alone for completely different looks and as your little one grows, the dress becomes a great smock top over a long sleeve blouse, jeans or a pair of our Skid Pants or BabyLegs - the looks and possibilities are endless.

Of course, not to be over-shadowed Knuckleheads for boys is as cool as ever. The retro and rock-a-billy look and feel of the shorts and tops can’t be beat as the coolest fashions available for boys. The longer Dickies look shorts and whimsical tees make it easy to decide what your little ones going to wear because he’ll pick it out himself. These fashions will quickly become his favorite because the cool styles will remind him of dad and they’ll become your favorites because of the many details, i.e. adjustable waiste shorts and wash and wear care. Oh, yeah and they are just so cool!

Brides Against Breast Cancer Event

brides-against-breast-cancer.jpg

I’m sorry I didn’t know about this even earlier or about the organization because I think it is great!  I saw Brides Against Breast Cancer on a local LA news channel this weekend and was hooked.  This organization is doing so much for women and men who are currently battling breast cancer, a cause that touched my life when my mom was diagnosed and later passed away from breast cancer.   Please take a moment and visit their website and find if there is anyway in which you can contribute to this cause - either by volunteering or donating - every action makes a difference.  Visit their site at http://bridesagainstbreastcancer.org/

webvenetian-glass-heart-2.jpgcarry1.jpg

Yesteday, February 7, 2008 I was interviewed by Tamara Pruessener, of Mommy’s Getaway on her Blog Talk Radio show.  I had a great time and Tamara was very easy to speak with. It was a fun,  lighthearted interview and we easily spoke for 15 minutes!  I could have used an hour and not stopped talking.  Please check out Mommy’s Getaway at Mommysgetaway.com or click here to hear the interview http://www.blocktalkradio.com2008/07/08/Work_At-Home-Mom-Month

We were spotted on www.TCKidz.comwhere they raved about their love affair and “addiction” of our fabulous boutique!  Featured was our adorable and incredibly versatile minky dot, hooded cover-ups (shown in the above picture).  About TCKidz:  TCKidz is one of the Southeast Coasts (Treasure Cove) best resources for Modern Moms.  they publish a fabulous magazine, that highlights the best of the best for Modern Moms; from party ideas, and vacation spots for families, to the best places for modern moms to shop (that’s us!).

OOOOO….the highlights keep on coming.  We just received a copy of the latest Style Cafe Moms newsletter and guess what?  We’re featured there too!  They recently discovered our beautiful Venetian glass, pearl and precious metals heart pendant for Valentine’s Day, made exclusively for us by Dezigz on You.  This heart is part of our ‘Passion for Pink” collection and for every sale we donate 10% of our proceeds to the Susan G. Komen Foundation!

The Business of Being Born: A Must See for Anyone Who is Having or Will Have a Baby Soon

I received an e-mail earlier this week from a couple of Mompreneur colleagues of mine who currently facilitate and are trained in Itsy Bitsy Yoga www.itsybitsyyoga.com, 949.244.5603 and will soon open a holistic living location, Oasis Child,  here in Orange County.  I would encourage anyone  who is currently pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant to attend the viewing of a new documentary film called The Business of Being Born.  I am not advocating the film; as I have not yet seen it yet but I believe in being informed and making decisions that are right for you.  When you click on the title you will be directed to the web-site where you can also find special screenings of the film across the U.S.

ALERT: Evenflo Discovery Car Seat Recall

ALERT: Evenflo announced it is implementing a voluntary safety recall of its Discovery Infant Car Seat Models 390, 391, 534, and 552. Approximately one million units were produced beginning April 2005.

This is based on recent laboratory tests conducted by Evenflo and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTSA), which show that this car seat could potentially become separated from its base in high impact side collisions similar to those in the tests.

Owners of the affected Discovery safety seats are urged to immediately contact Evenflo and receive a free dual-hook fastener that will secure the seat to its base. The NTSA advised parents that they should continue using the safety seats while waiting for their fasteners to arrive.

More information is on Evenflo’s website

Calling All Mom’s: Did you know…?

I know I’m not the only A Type personality mom out there - I know this because I am surrounded by these non-stop, motivated, clever, intelligent women.  Well,  I’m going to share a secret with you.  I was at my local Home Depot this afternoon and ended up speaking with the “Master Gardner” at that store - no, I didn’t make that up,  that’s her title and she has every right to be proud of it and use it… her list of certifications is very impressive.  Any who,  she was telling me that she is well connected with a number of local growers who offer her free fruit and vegetable plants to use at school programs.  For FREE, she will go to the schools, start AND maintain gardens with the children and educate them about growing their own fruits and veggies.  OMG (an acronym borrowed from my teen daughter - translation:  Oh, My God)  what an incredible opportunity for the children to get their hands dirty and learn about something that they most likely wouldn’t.  AND IT”S FREE TO THE SCHOOL.  I was so impressed - I gave her the name of a few local schools where I know some of the Administrators and of course the names of my children’s schools.  So, for you A Type Moms out there  - get a hold of your local nursery, growers, or large home improvement stores like Home Depot - you never know what type of programs they may be able to offer your children.  Expand their mind ladies…it’s fascinating to watch!
